Abstract

LSI memories play an importrant role in information-intensive societies for storage of large volumes of information. Their market has expanded to cover a major part of the semiconductor industry, and they serve in a wide variety of applications for computers as well as communications and office-automation equipment. Corresponding developments in Japan are reported.
