Abstract

The magnetic and superconducting properties of Ba2HoCu3O7−yare examined using a pulsed magnetic field up to 55 tesla. Magnetic Ho3+ions in Ba2HoCu3O7−yshow paramagnetic behavior. No magnetic ordering is observed down to 1.3K. The temperature dependence of the upper critical field is measured by the magnetoresistance method. The Hc2(0) deduced from the present experiment assuming the dirty limit is 104 tesla.
