Abstract

A basic study for palm tree reflection characteristics was conducted by using different frequency bands including Ku-band, X-band and L-band antennas. Also different polarizations have been used such as HH, VV and HV to test its reflection properties on the object. The experiment was performed in an anechoic chamber and the palm tree was tested during two conditions with the leaves then after cutting the leaves in order to test the tree trunk. Two instruments have been used, a vector network analyzer (VNA) and X-band GB-SAR developed for the purpose of this study.
