Abstract
The Republic of Estonia celebrated the 20th anniversary of regaining its independence this year, while this year is also the 90th anniversary of the officialrecognitionofEstonia'sindependencebythe Entente Powers, including Japan. In the face of this historical year, this article aims to shed light on diplomatic relations between Estonia and Japan before WW II based on diplomatic documents and to introduce some findingstobothcountries.
