    Abstract

The Newton-Raphson method using optimal ordering and sparse matrix techniques is widely used at present for load-flow calculation. This paper proposes a new fast method of load-flow calculation, the computing speed of which is four to eight times as high as that of the conventional Newton-Raphson method for systems with 30 to 118 nodes. Mathematically speaking, the proposed method is as accurate as the conventional Newton-Raphson method and the required memory size is the same for the two methods.
