Abstract

This paper deals with the multi-objective design optimization of the primary core in induction heating roll in consideration of heating performance, cost, and manufacturability. We effectively carry out the shape optimization of the core by combining the 2D level-set method with the 3D finite element method for the coupled nonlinear magnetic-thermal analysis.
