Abstract
This paper investigates the performances of a nonorthogonal single user multiplexing scheme employing multiple power levels. In this work, we employ different power levels for different signals from a single user. The single data stream from a single user was divided into several data blocks and each data block employed a non-uniform multiple power levels. The system performances were evaluated using two different modulation schemes of 16QAM and 64QAM. Two data blocks case gave us a better performance with flexibility in power allocation compared to four data blocks case where the complexity of power allocation was high. The proposed scheme with interference cancellation and multiple power levels offer effective improvement even with some error in cancellation compared to no cancellation scheme.
