Abstract
A poly(arylene ether) containing sulfofluorenyl groups was synthesized. The new polymer electrolyte with acid function at the end of bulky substituents affords a good film which endures severe hydrolytic and oxidative treatments. Better proton conducting properties than those of perfluorinated monomer membrane were confirmed at 100% RH. These preliminary results proved its potential availability as an electrolyte for high-temperature PEFCs.
