Abstract

A fiber scope was installed in the lower shaft probe at Kimitsu No. 4 blast furnace for the purpose of estimating gas flow distribution in the furnace and evaluating the change of materials charged into the furnace. In this report, the behavior of coke and sinter at the shaft level under the operating conditions of the furnace are discussed on the basis of 2 months' observation.
