Abstract
Nowadays, Kaizen technologies are recognized widely over the world. However, it does not always guarantees success stories. One relevant way to realize effective Kaizen activity is to establish a system enabling transfer of this technology within/among organizations. Based on this standing point, we propose a) framework of such system and its functional features and b) way to realize transferability of Kaizen technologies under proposed system. For the first issue, there are three phases i.e. classification, reuse and new method development phases which handles typical Total Productive Management (TPM) technologies such as Visual Management (VM), POKAYOKE, KARAKURI. For the second issue, four-phase approach described below is proposed to cope with the problem. 1) Clarifying the keyword of current Kaizen problem, 2) Retrieving Kaizen method base by using established keyword in phase 1 to detect applicable Kaizen technologies, 3) Selecting suitable Kaizen technology to solve current problem effectively, 4) Solving current problem to apply suitable Kaizen technology derived in phase 3 The proposed framework in this paper is based on taxonomy of Kaizen technologies, which enhances mobility of Kaizen technologies (seeds) for getting effective solution of performance improvement projects (needs).
