Abstract
A theory has been developed which accounts for certain deviations from the ideal cyclic voltammetric behavior of molecules adsorbed irreversibly on electrode surfaces. This new model considers explicitly the interactions of the electric field at the interface with the permanent dipole moment of the adsorbed species. Good quantitative agreement has been obtained with experimental data reported earlier in the literature.
