Abstract

Optical activity and birefringence of (NH4)2S04 were measured by using HAUP method, in the temperature range between 50 C and -200 C. Gyration tensor component gi2 appeared suddenly at Tc, and increased gradually with decrease of temperature. No other phase transition was found in this temperature range.
