Abstract
The shredder dust such as an automobile and a home electric appliance is treated in the copper smelting to recover the copper and precious metals in the dust. These secondary materials include combustibles components and chlorine with valuable metals. These are incinerated in rotary kiln furnace to remove combustion and the chlorine of the combustibles component. These are incinerated in rotary kiln furnace to remove combustion and the chlorine of the combustibles component. Refractory including Al 2 O 3 or Cr 2 O 3 is used in the rotary kiln furnace and has strong heat resistance. However, an erosion of the refractory of Al 2 O 3 was sometimes observed with the FeO x -CaO-SiO 2 slag. When we consider prolongation of human life of a furnace, A knowledge about the reaction of Al 2 O 3 and the FeO x content slag is important. To characterize the phase equilibria relevant to the slags experimental studies have been carried out to determine liquidus lines of the FeO x -CaO-SiO 2 -Al 2 O 3 -Cr 2 O 3 system with some fixed CaO/SiO 2 mass% ratios and 3.0mass% Cr 2 O 3 at 1573 K. It was found that the influence of the addition of Cr 2 O 3 is small to slag liquidus of Al 2 O 3 -CaO-SiO 2 ternary system. In the measurement range from 0 to 15mass% FeO x , the liquidus line of anorthite primary phase field in the the FeO x -CaO-SiO 2 -Al 2 O 3 -Cr 2 O 3 system does not change with the CaO/SiO 2 ratios of 0.3 to 0.6. On the other hand, the liquid phase was expanded with an increase of the FeO x content except for 0.3 <mass%CaO/mass%SiO2 ratios <0.6.
