Abstract

This paper presents the performance evaluation of multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) employing Tomlinson Harashima precoding (THP) in consideration of user scheduling techniques from the viewpoint of system capacity and fairness. In this paper, the ordering process is adopted for THP, and both semiorthogonal user selection (SUS) and proportional fairness (PF) are considered as user scheduling techniques. Their opposite characteristics make it possible to establish the degree of matching between precoding and user scheduling techniques. The system-level performance with unequal CNR users is evaluated through computer simulations, and it is compared with the performance of linear precoding (LP).
