Abstract

The characteristic features of phase transformations are investigated and compared with those of other indium-rich alloys. A shape recovery associated with the reverse phase transformation is realized on heating. In addition to the explanation of the mechanism of shape recovery, the mechanism of the phase transformations is discussed on the basis of lattice mode softening.
