Abstract
We tried to prove the merit of electrochemical reductive polymerization (ERP) original character of which is to control polymerization site on the preparation of π-conjugated polymer film. As the results, an electroactive poly(p-phenylene) film formed by ERP demonstrated a reversible higher redox property and narrower energy band gap in comparison with the film formed by electrochemical oxidative polymerization of biphenyl. So it is efficient to use EPR as the film formation of π-conjugated polymer film.
