Abstract

Aiming at realizing an electro-assisted near-field fluorescence sensor that can collect fluorescently-labeled substances selectively and effectively on a near-field region due to dielectrophoresis, a chip that can induce fluorescence by both waveguide-mode resonance (WMR) and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) simultaneously has been developed. The chip has an Al SPR layer on a part of a planar WMR structure composed of TiO2 and SiO2 layers on a silica glass substrate. It has been confirmed that the fluorescence from fluorescence beads induced by the two resonances can be detected simultaneously.
