Abstract

The pressure for reducing energy consumption on the industry sector from a government or a general society has been increasing on the basis of a strong request to the reduction to CO2 problem. Reduction of energy demand of distillation would have great impact on this issue. Though there are a few examples of introducing membrane separation technology in chemical industry, in this paper we would like to emphasize that research and development of inorganic separation membrane using zeolite is quite attractive as a candidate enabling us large scale reduction of energy consumption.
