Abstract

To see through a turbid medium, an imaging technique was developed to reconstruct a three-dimensional structure inside the medium. Clear transillumination images were obtained with a scattering suppression technique in which the weakly scattered light component is extracted from the strongly diffused light. The possibility of the proposed technique was examined in the experiment using the turbid medium with known internal structure. Through the experimental analysis, the feasibility of the proposed technique and the effectiveness of the scattering suppression were verified.
