Abstract

Thermal interference on lasing wavelength for integrated light sources consisting of a DFB laser and an electro-absorption modulator was investigated. Lasing wavelength shift observed was strongly dependent on the heat generated in the modulator. The shifts could be suppressed within 0.04 nm by reducing the modulation voltage.
