Abstract

New deterministic techniques for restoring blurred images are presented. Two-dimensional digital filters based on pseudo-inverses are designed with the point spread function of a blurring system assumed to be known. The proposed filters are nonrecursive and therefore their stability is guaranteed. The optimum filter is obtained through solving a linear system. The deblurring filters are for noise-free cases. Noisy images can be processed by noise filters described in this study. Three types of averaging filters and two types of median filters are considered for noise removal.
