Abstract

Rapid technological growth is bringing about price reductions in network components, and the tariff structures of leased line services have been changing drastically. Since most enterprise networks are constructed using leased line services, their effective constructions become very important issues. This paper analyzes the characteristics of enterprise network topologies when the tariff structure changes, and examines the topology that is robust against the diverse tariff structures. A topological design for robust enterprise networks is also discussed. The obtained results lead us to important conclusions, which we use as guidelines when we design enterprise networks.
