N2 - In this study, a virtual science field activity for elementary students was designed in which geological layers were developed in a multi-user virtual environment (MUVE). Twenty undergraduate university students evaluated the activity in a pilot study by completing a survey with questions in 4 categories; Usefulness, Self-awareness, Interface and Motivation. The results in the Usefulness and Motivation categories showed that the virtual field activity is an effective learning opportunity for most of the students.
