Abstract

To increase the accessibility and usability of online language services, this paper explains the Language Grid, a service oriented collective intelligence initiative. The Language Grid is an infrastructure that allows end-users to create new language services for their intercultural / multilingual collaboration activities. To this end, language resources including data and programs are wrapped as Web services so that users can easily share and combine these Web services to create Web service workflows that support their own collaboration tools.
