    Abstract

In the present study, a microcomputerized highly precise but simple Laboratory Automatic (L. A. ) system has been assembled. By using the L. A. system, the relationship between the shape memory properties (shape recovery force, recovery percentage, etc. ) of mica glass ceramics and prestrain, the temperature at which prestrain takes place, the prestrain rate, and the heating temperature during shape recovery were examined. Then the occurrence of superplastic deformation in mica glass ceramics was investigated and the mechanism of the shape memory phenomenon was clarified.
