Abstract

This panel session focuses on software factory as a promising new approach, especially on its human factors aspects, and tries to clarify the concept, problems, and required technologies. The following topics are included: (1) concept; (2) physical distribution of software factories; (3) floor layout design and working environments; (4) work breakdown structure, assignment, and interfaces among workers; and (5) pros and cons of the software factory from human factors viewpoints.
