Abstract

The purpose of this study is to arrange the spatial layout process on the premise of polyhedral layout factors. As the first step in this study, this report goes as far as the theoretical plot of layout objects, applying multi-dimensional scaling. In particular, the M-D-SCAL-5M program is applied. Based on affinity sample data (10 categories) for a hospital with 48 layout objects, we developed a quantitative evaluation method using “Kruskal Stress” for each plot plan and a heuristic approach- including an improvement loop-to the plan by removing the low-affinity sample as noise.
