Abstract

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is one of the leading causes of death worldwide [1] and this can lead a serious car accident by driving. There are many published results on the monitoring of heart rate (HR), heart rate variability (HRV) using microwave Doppler radar [2] and electric contact ECG sensor, but less actual test results inside vehicles inclosing with metal under driving condition which should consider the car noise effect. In this paper, we present the developed very low phase noise, small size 2.4 GHz ISM band Doppler radar to use car driver HR monitoring and show the test results in automotive environment.
