Abstract

When the Internet is used for school education, students in a classroom access the WWW under the supervision of their teacher. In this situation, many request packets for WWW objects may flood the Internet, triggered by the instructions of the teacher, and may cause heavy congestion in access lines or servers. To avoid traffic congestion, caching and mirroring techniques will be required. In this paper, we study caching and mirroring with pre-fetch methods suitable for the educational use of the Internet.
