    Abstract

The authors developed a load distribution calculation method and a contact pressure calculation method of misalignment needle roller bearing to estimate the limit of the bearing fatigue life during misalignment of needle roller bearing. Relationship between values of pressures divided by Brinell hardness values and the number of repeated contacts up to damage occurance was experimentally verified by conducting misalignment. From the experimental results, it was found that rolling contact fatigue life of the misaligned needle roller bearing can be, in some cases, predictable, using the calculational peak contact pressure occuring due to misalignment and this paper presents the results obtained and empirical fatigue life formula considering misalignment was presented.
