    Abstract

A load distribution calculation method and a contact pressure calculation method of misalignment needle roller bearing to estimate the limit of the bearing fatigue life during misalignment of needle roller bearing were developed. Rolling contact fatigue life of the misaligned needle roller bearing could be, in some cases, predictable, using the calculational peak contact pressure occurring due to misalignment. The factors typical for rolling bearings were the thermal deformation, a change of the viscosity of lubricating oil, a change of the bearing clearance, and a change of the position of rollers due to the skewing. Temperature of supplied lubricating oil was 65°C. Refrigerating machine oil was used as lubricating oil with viscosities of 21.8 × 10-6 sq m/sec at 40°C, 9.5 × 10-6 sq m/sec at 65°C, and 4.29 × 10-6 sq m/sec at 100°C, and the specific gravity was 0.864 (15/4°C).
