Abstract

Multimedia communication services based on standard information, such as MPEG-1, MPEG-2, H.261 and H.263, had been indicated using multimedia scalability packages, which can provide multimedia information according to functionality and availability for users. In this paper, we propose the coding method of video information architecture in these packages, which are called 'MSP'. The MSP data architecture is defined using hierarchical architectures. We especially considered temporal feature information. The temporal scalability concept is described by both of MSP data and scalability content data. And then, as coding schemes, we attention to video hybrid scalability using spatial scalability and temporal one and scalability profiles are shown. Finally, we explained the new video temporal function by MSP data description.
