Abstract

The appearance of superconductivity with Tc=12K in C60 when it is doped with La has been reconfirmed with a much larger superconducting fraction than that of the previous work. The reactions of C60 with La are shown to produce compounds with two superconducting onset temperatures of 6 and 12K. However, the true superconducting phase is not a C60 fulleride and is unambiguously proven to be a carbide phase.
