Abstract

Novel syntheses of quadruply hydrogen-bonded Supramolecular alternating and graft copolymers based on ureidopyrimidinone (Upy) and 2,7-diamide-1,8- naphthyridine (Napy) heterodimerization (ADDA-DAAD motif) will be detailed. The Napy monomer was synthesized quite efficiently by using the palladium catalyzed Buchwald's direct amidation. The brand-new methodology for the efficient polymerization and characterization using a supramolecular protective group will be also reported. Furthermore, the new approach to modify a porphyrin ring with hydrogen bonding units will be mentioned, in connection with a ring-chain equilibrium.
