Abstract

A novel poly(arylenesulfonium salt) with n-octadecyl groups as the side chains was synthesized via the polycondensation of 4-octadecylculfinyldiphenyl ether. DSC analyses revealed that the polymer has two endothermic transitions based on the rigid sulfonioarylene mesogen as the main chain and the flexible alkyl groups as the side chains.
