Abstract

It has been reported that cobalt porphyrin complexes show oxygen reduction activity. In this study, [meso-tetra(thiophen-3-yl)porphinato]cobalt(II) (CoT3ThP) complex was synthesized and electropolymerized onto carbon particles. The electropolymerization condition was investigated using a glassy carbon electrode. The catalyst prepared from CoT3ThP by a suitable process showed relatively high catalytic activity for the reduction of oxygen.
