Abstract

Sulfamide acid, one of the sulfonic acid derivatives, involves both an electron-drawing carbonyl group and a conjugated structure. Benzenesulfamide acid as a model compound showed very low acid dissociation constant among organic sulfonic acids such as p-toluenesulfonic acid in a water-free state. We designed and synthesized polyamidesulfamide acid, polyamide bearing backbone and side chains of sulfamide acids. Properties of the dry membrane including proton conductivity are described.
