Abstract

Six kinds of polyorganosiloxanes with pyridyl groups in the side chains were synthesized from poly(3-chlorocarbonyl propyl methyl siloxane) and the pyridine derivatives, such as 4-aminopyridine, 4-picolylamine, and 4-pyridinemethanol. Glass transition temperature (Tg) measurements of the polyorganosiloxanes were carried out with d.s.c.. In addition, the functional groups which form hydrogen bonds and which influence Tg are discussed.
