Abstract
The synthetic amphiphile derived from gallic acid construct the hexagonal columnar liquid crystalline arrays and the ion-conductive layer are formed in the nano sized hydrophilic core. We synthesized gallic acid derivative equipped with both imidazole and methacryloyl unit. Thermal optical polarized microscopy of 3 revealed the homeotropically aligned columnar liquid crystalline texture on the ITO substrate. The ionic conductivity of the non-ordered film obtained by photo-polymerization of 2 was measured by the complex impedance methods, and the ionic conductivity was 1.2 × 10-5S/cm at 120°C.
