The effects of Sn doping on Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O systems

    We have studied systematically the effect of Sn doping on the electrical properties of Bi10-(x+y)PbxSnySr10Ca10Cu15Oz. The phase diagram with several characteristic regions has been obtained. The high-Tc(110 K) phase does not exist in samples without Pb. For ϗ + y = 4, the volume fraction of the 110 K-phase abruptly decreases at y ~ 1, but is recovered for 2 < y < 4. The length of the c-axis decreases with increasing y for ϗ 4+ y = 4, while it increases with increasing ϗ for y = 0.
