N2 - A numerical cross-shore model for wave-mud interaction is presented that can be used to predict time dependent variations of fluid mud thickness and irregular wave transformation along soft mud profiles. The rheological constitutive equations of visco-elastic (VE) material are adopted for the behavior of fluid mud layer under the wave action. Spectral calculation method is used for the simulation of irregular wave transformation. The application of the numerical model at a field site shows the capability of the model to predict the wave height transformation along muddy profiles.
