Abstract
For power system operation, transient stability analysis is indispensable. Of late, electric power systems have become more complicated; thus, fast transient stability analyses are critical for online computations. In this paper, we apply the Taylor series expansion to a time domain equal-area criterion applicable to multimachine systems and propose a fast transient stability analysis method that eliminates numerical integration. Simulations demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.
