Abstract

A technique for obtaining the attenuation constant ॅ and its frequency characteristics from the echo signal of a point reflector is proposed. Experiments were conducted using specimens of fine glass balls dispersed in agar and gelatin as an ultrasonic medium. The experimentally obtained value of ॅ was close to the data obtained by relative attenuation technique.
