Abstract

This paper proposes a transmit power control method to reduce power consumption and alleviate inter-cell interference for centrally controlled wireless LANs with multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO). The main feature of the proposed method is to control the transmit power of the access points (APs) according to the relationship between the number of allocated users and AP antennas. The effectiveness of the proposed method compared to the conventional fixed transmit power method is demonstrated in terms of power consumption and system throughput via computer simulations.
