Abstract

This paper demonstrates and discusses low-power operation of optical switches consisting of semiconductor, InAlGaAs/InAlAs/InP, for high speed and polymer for low cost applications based on Mach-Zehnder interferometer structures with power consumptions of 4-6 mW as well as low crosstalks of less than -20dB and polarization independence.
