Use of electric discharge excitation for modification of catalytic reactions and hydrocarbons

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Combining electric discharge with catalytic reaction is expected to considerably reduce reaction temperature. Along with the advantages of such combination, it also allows to produce hydrogen by hydrocarbon modification at normal temperature. This possibility is illustrated by low temperature (200°C) steam modification of methane using dielectric-barrier discharge (DBD) and Ni/SiO 2 catalyst for hydrogen production.
