Abstract
Ontology databases in Semantic Grid can grow very large making it more complex and difficult to manage. Subontology extraction in compliance with the user requirements paves the way for sub-ontology reuse in sub-ontology/ontology tailoring. As new developments and discoveries are unleashed, or when sub-ontology will be reused, the need to update the extracted sub-ontology is deemed necessary. In this paper, we proposed a sub-ontology update mechanism and verify its functionality and performance. Preliminary results demonstrate the viability of the proposed mechanism.
