Abstract
This conceptually oriented article explores strategic components of L2 competence for oral interaction, known as communication strategies in psycholinguistics and as repairs or comprehension-monitoring moves in interaction analysis. The focus is on curricular and methodological questions for the teaching of German as a Foreign Language, in particular on the importance of highlighting interactional repair moves in GFL textbooks and in teacher training for GFL.
