abstract = "Two major aspects of wave-mud interaction, i.e. wave height attenuation and mud mass transport, under irregular waves are studied in this paper. Spectral calculation method and joint distribution of wave height and wave period are used for the simulation of irregular wave-mud interaction. A series of wave flume experiments have been performed to obtain the required data for the verification of the numerical model. It is concluded that the phenomena can be better predicted by the method of modeling spectra.",
