    Abstract

A wavefront sensor that measures the wavefront of a light wave plays an important role in adaptive optics. In this paper, we propose a new wavefront sensor using a 2-dimensional diffraction grating. By this technique, the wavefront can be determined from the measured intensity data of the light passing through the diffraction grating. Using this technique, we measured the wavefront of a spherical wave as well as a light wave distorted by thermal turbulence.
